2008 GULFSTREAM SAILING CLUB OCEAN BUOYS SERIES, RACES 5 AND 6
1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing
2005-2008.
2. CHANGES TO SAILING INTRUCTIONS
Any change to the sailing instructions will be given verbally by the Race Committee. All communications will be on VHF Channel 78.
3. RACING AREA
The races will take place in the ocean off of Fort Lauderdale beach, approximately
1nm. north of the inlet.
4. SCHEDULE OF RACES
Sunday, 2 March, 2008. The first warning will be at 11:00hrs.
5. THE COURSES
5.1 The courses may consist of a triangle or windward/leeward or a combination of the two.
5.2 The course may be posted on a board on the Committee Boat along with a compass bearing and distance to the first mark.
5.3 Also, it is the intention of the Race Committee to announce the course at 10:45. as well as the number and order of classes to start.
5. THE START
Races will be started using rule 26. Alternatively, there may be a rabbit start.
6. CLASSES
6.1 If there are enough competitors, the fleet will be divided into two classes, ARC Spin, and ARC Non-Spin. Please check in and notify the RC whether you will be sailing Spinnaker or Non-Spinnaker.
6.2 If there are to be two classes, there will be two starts.
6.3 The class flag for the Spinnaker Class will be pink. If there is to be a Non-Spinnaker Class, its flag will be lime green. If there is only one class, the flag will be pink for everyone.
7. PROTESTS
7.1 A yacht intending to protest shall announce their intention and the sail number of the yacht they are protesting to the Race Committee after the finish of the race.
7.2 All protests will be heard at 12:00hrs., the 31st of December, on the second floor of the GSC Club House.
8. ENTRIES
8.1 It would really be appreciated if all yachts intending to race would notify the Race Chairman, Drew Siegle, no later than 1800hrs. on Saturday, March 1, 2008. Please e-mail, drewsiegle@hotmail.com.
8.2 Boats with no new rating since last year need to contact Drew Siegle for a new rating.

NOTICE OF RACE
2007 COMMODORES CUP
DECEMBER 8, 2007
Location:
SAILOR’S POINT AT NORTH LAKE, HOLLYWOOD
Directions:
From 95 exit at Sheridan St. and go east to Federal Hwy., south to Johnson St., east to 10th
Ave., south to Northlake Drive, east to end of Northlake Drive, south to gate into Sailors Point.
Schedule of Events:
Registration 9:00 to 10:00 AM
Skipper’s Meeting 10:00 AM
First Warning Signal 10:30 AM
Number of Races (6) with one throw out, (5) or less no throw out
Barbeque and Trophies Soon After the Last Race
Registration Fee: $10.00
Boat Rentals: $10.00 for non-club members and $5.00 for club members.
We have 15 boats, but only a few have racing sails
There will be two fleets, “A” and “B” for the less experienced with trophies for the
first three in each fleet.
Each race takes about 20 minutes depending on the wind and we will run all six one after the other.
GSC will provide burgers hotdogs a pig roast and drinks, including a cooler with
water bottles on the race committee boat. Any one is welcome to bring a dish or
desert to share and any other meat you may want to cook for yourself.
