SMALL BOAT SAILING

Overview

The Gulfstream Sailing Club Sunfish fleet sails off Sailor’s Point at North Lake in Hollywood FL which is adjacent to the Intracoastal and just North of Hollywood Blvd. The property is open every Saturday from 9:00 AM to about 3:30 PM.

We have four racing series Winter Spring Summer and Fall; each series has four race days and each race day five races, for a total of 80 individual races.

Trophies are awarded to the top three of each series and the Winter Spring and Fall series count for the overall score of the year.

The fleet is divided in “A” and “C” fleets where “A” fleet is for the more experienced sailors and “C” fleet for the novice. Both fleets start at the same time and “C” races a slightly shorter course.

Besides these four series we race the Commodore’s Cup in December and also host the sailing event of the South Florida Senior Games, both are one day events that usually attract a good number of sailors.

Weather permitting, we will race 5 short races.
Skipper's meeting is at 11am each day, races start shortly there after.

Race Fee: $5.00
Optimist Rental: $5.00 for Club members, $15.00 for non-members

Directions to Sailor's Point:

Take I-95 to Sheridan
Go East on Sheridan to US 1
Turn Right (South) on US 1 to Johnson (large intersection with traffic light)
Turn Left (East) on Johnson and go through the 4-way stop sign
Turn Right (South) on 12th
At North Northlake Drive turn Left (East)
At the dead end, turn Right (South) and go through the gates directly ahead
